Modern Photographers That Continue the Tradition | ||
Bay
Area portrait photographer JIM FERREIRA recreates the look and feel
of the classic film noir Publicity Still with a sharp deep focus made
famous by the noir cinema photographers of the 1940's and 50's.
Ferreira's work so far, favors the interior landscape where he has mastered low
key lighting and those all so important
shadows.

Helen K. Garber is an award winning fine art and editorial photographer. She lives with her husband, Stuart and her two Springer Spaniels in Santa Monica, CA. |
LA Noir has gained much attention in the fine art photographic community. Images from this series have been in a number of group shows including galleries in Los Angeles and London. Two, one-woman shows of this work can be seen presently on the Internet at www.london-photo-awards.com and www.wipi.org. As the images from this series are cinema inspired, I have always envisioned them as printed huge. The first 40" x 60" digital print from the LA Noir series has been installed in the lobby of a newly refurbished office building at 6464 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA. Presented here are photos from the L.A. Noir and NYC Noir series. All of these images are available from the artist directly. |
